King has opened an office in Japan
Recently, King has become more active. Not a week goes by without a reason to talk about the "candy" company. Tonight, for example, it became known that King is opening an office in Japan.
Candy Crush has never been the undisputed leader in Asian markets. In the free and cash top twenties, the game regularly shone, sometimes rose higher, periodically fell lower. Many of the company's recent steps are aimed at breaking this situation: six months ago, King began cooperation with the Korean KAKAO, last week it became known about the partnership of the British company with the Chinese giant Tencent. Japan was next in line.
The new studio is called King Japan and is based in Tokyo. It is planned that she will deal with the issues of localization and adaptation of projects for Japanese users. It is possible that in the future she will take up the creation of games for the local market. But it won't happen soon. Currently, the company employs only three people, including its head Ken Edahiro, who previously held a responsible position in the gloops studio (the full list of their titles is here — http://gloops.com/en /), which was absorbed by Nexon in 2012.
According to Serkan Toto, the appearance of King Studio 10 (the company also has offices in San Francisco, Seoul, Stockholm, Malmo, Barcelona, Berlin, Malta and London) coincided with the launch of another Candy Crush TV advertising campaign, followed by Apple's feature.
