Tencent to publish Candy Crush Saga in China

Candy Crush

The highest-grossing match 3 in history will receive a residence permit in China. Yesterday, Chinese giant Tencent Holdings announced that it will bring Candy Crush Saga to its platforms QQ (PC messenger, MAU – 808 million) and WeChat (mobile messenger, MAU – 355 million).

The release of the game on Tencent's Chinese platforms will probably make Candy Crush Saga as popular in China as it is around the world," said Riccardo Zacconi, executive director of King.

At the moment, Candy Crush Saga is only available in the App Store in China. According to downloads, it is not even in the top hundred, and at the box office it is in the Top 50.

Last September, Candy Crush Saga was released on Google Play in a version for Kakao. In South Korea, its appearance significantly affected downloads (from the Top 200, the game almost immediately got into the Top 20, now it is in the Top 50) and revenue (from the Top 40, the game moved to the Top 10, where it still is).

Tencent is one of the largest Internet companies in China. It was founded in 1998. Among its developments are the messengers QQ and WeChat, whose total MAU is more than 1 billion. Tencent accounts for 30% of China's mobile market.
