25.5 million Russians use the mobile Internet
Company Mail.ru The Group has published a study “Mobile Internet in Russia”. About its main results – in our material.
From December 2012 to December 2013, the growth of mobile Internet users in Russia amounted to 53% – from 16.7 million to 25.5 million. That is, in December last year, a third of the daily audience of Runet went online from mobile devices.
The daily activity of mobile Internet users reaches its peak from 22:00 to 23:00.
55% of smartphone users access the Internet from their device at least 2-3 times a day.
What is especially curious is that mobile Internet is beginning to replace desktop in many ways. Judging by the data presented, 57% of users access the Internet from mobile devices at home. Really, here Mail.ru refers to a 2012 Nielsen study.
The most popular mobile platform turned out to be Android. J2ME also made its way into the top three (11%). Windows Phone closes the top five with 3%.
The most popular Android device was the Samsung Galaxy S III. This, by the way, also indicates on which device your sites and applications should work perfectly.
Only 11% of respondents see the purpose of using mobile Internet games (but this is again Nielsen data for 2012).
