King no longer claims the word Candy in the US
Yesterday it became known that the authors of Candy Crush Saga are abandoning their plans to consolidate the word Candy as the intellectual property of King in the US digital products market.
The refusal is connected with the purchase of the rights to the Candy Crusher game, which, according to the British company, will help protect the IP from encroachments. Candy Crusher was released on Blackberry devices in 2004. The presence of this project in the legal portfolio is “the best way to protect Candy Crush in the US market,” King said.
Candy CrusherRecall that King’s plans to consolidate the word Candy caused a wide public outcry.
It’s funny, in Europe the word “candy” was left for King. So nothing prevents the company from demanding, for example, that Apple remove your game containing this word from one or another European store.
