Facebook no longer works with HasOffers and Kontagent
Last night it became known that the social network Facebook excluded two large companies from its Mobile Measurement Program – HasOffers and Kontagent.
As reported by adexchanger.com , the companies violated their agreements with Facebook. They “held the data for longer than they were allowed to, and did not require advertisers – application developers – to notify users about the collection of this data.”
Non-compliance with the agreements was revealed thanks to a confidentiality audit conducted by a third-party company.
11 companies remained in the advertising cooperation program, from which HasOffers and Kontagent were excluded after the audit:
- Adeven (read the interview with them on our website tomorrow)
- Adways
- AD-X
- AppsFlyer
- Apsalar
- Cyberagent
- CuberZ
- Kochava
- Localytics
- Septeni
- Trademob
According to journalists with adexchanger.com Such a move by Facebook is intended to demonstrate to regulators, advertising companies and partners how seriously the social network takes privacy issues.
Immediately after the article on adexchanger.com The Kontagent+Playhaven blog has a post by Andy Yang, the company’s executive director. According to him, despite the fact that Kontagent is no longer part of the Mobile Measurement Program, which shares information about the installations of applications generated by its own advertising grid, cooperation between the companies in all other aspects continues.
Yang explained the delay in data retention by the desire to protect information from penetration by hackers. This caused an increase in time.
Also, according to him, the company can quickly resolve all the issues that have arisen to it and at the moment hopes to take part in the Mobile Measurement Program again.
We also contacted HasOffers. The company assured us that the official comment from the company’s management will be publicly published within 24 hours (we were answered at 18.36).
In the meantime, it’s time for all HasOffers and Kontagent users to integrate the official SDK from Facebook into their applications.
