Pavel Ryakkonen, Distribution Director of Nevosoft, answered the questions.
Pavel Ryakkonen
What event/trend would you call the central one in the outgoing year in the mobile applications and games industry?
If we talk about trends, then this is, of course, the rapid growth of Asian markets (especially the South Korean market, which surpassed the United States in the third quarter of this year in terms of revenue from Google Play). This growth can be attributed to the phenomenon of messengers (KakaoTalk in Korea, LINE in Japan, WeChat in China).
Free-2-play, service games and midcore have become the rules of the trends. I mean, most of the applications are distributed for free today and are regularly updated with an eye to analytics. Moreover, it is not a problem to meet projects with, conditionally, complicated mechanics today.
What would you call the main event for your company this year?
The release at the end of 2013 of 2 social free-2-play games ("Wizards", "7 Heaven") and one mobile free-2-play game - "My Film Studio".
To summarize, the results of the company's transition to the free-2-play model have now become more noticeable. We started this process a couple of years ago, and now we are slowly bringing projects to the market.
Please name one or two games (not from your company) that you can call the best projects on mobile platforms based on the results of the outgoing year.
There were a lot of good games. I liked Township, Ridiculous Fishing, Clumsy Ninja, Angry Birds Go! He also came out worthy. It can take a long time to list.
Thanks for the interview!
