Thanksgiving Day – Games have replaced the turkey

Flurry has published a report on the past Thanksgiving in the United States. According to him, during the reporting period, the use of mobile applications in the States increased by 25%.

Analysts analyzed purchases made using smartphones and tablets between Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday. It turned out that media and games continue to be the most popular types of downloaded programs during the holidays. The “media” category jumped especially high, Flurry explains this by people’s desire to capture relatives and friends at the dinner table.

The advent of free time has traditionally led to the number of game downloads and gaming sessions.

Compared to 2011 (27%) and 2012 (24%), the consumption of games during Thanksgiving increased significantly (35%). One of the possible factors explaining such rapid growth is the record number of mobile devices purchased during Black Friday.
