Clumsy Ninja downloaded 10 million times in a week
The new project from the authors of CSR and My Horse is already called by Western publications one of the most successful titles on the App Store.
It is not surprising, considering that in less than seven days since the release on November 21, users managed to download Clumsy Ninja more than 10 million times. The cash indicators of the project also show good results. Now the game is on the 27th place in the American grossing iPhone App Store.
The project itself is something like an improved version of Talking Tom with a funny ninja in the title role. The key difference between the Out Fit 7 and NaturalMotion projects is monetization.
Out Fit 7 games have classic freemium, and Clumsy Ninja has insidious free-2-play. In addition, the authors of the latter built the gameplay not on voice acting, but on playing with a character. A funny ninja can buy balloons, a trampoline, and many other things, he will play with each one, cheer the player with one or another funny animation.
Experience is given for interacting with objects, and the player constantly receives tasks from the mentor of the main character.
Purchased items quickly disappear, if the player wants to play with them again, he must either wait until they recover, or pay.
At the moment, the British NaturalMotion, which started as a software manufacturer for creating realistic animation in games (its developments were used to create Max Payne 3, GTA IV, Red Dead Redemption), 250 people work on 8 unannounced projects. Last year, the studio raised $11 million from Benchmark Capital.
