Monster Hunter 4 will finance mobile development

Capcom will spend the proceeds from Monster Hunter 4 to create an internal mobile game development studio.

The studio will be formed in Osaka. About $39 million will be invested in it. All this money is part of the proceeds received from the sales of Monster Hunter 4. The project for the Nintendo 3DS was released in Japan in September this year and managed to sell 3 million boxes.

There is an evil irony in this: the money from the console hit will go to the creation of mobile games.

It is believed that Capcom’s position in the mobile market is still very weak. In the box office top 100 in Japan, the company has only one project – a butler based on Monster Hunter モンハン 大狩猟クススト.
