Supermagical has become a paid application

The other day Supermagical, an arcade game from Super Mega Team, migrated from the category of free-to-play apps to premium on the App Store.

According to Enrique Corts, a representative of the Super Mega Team, his team hates free-to-play, which motivated such a transition.

However, despite the fact that the developers have put a price tag of $ 1.99 on the game, they are not going to give up the IAP. However, after the update, the cost of a number of expensive items was reduced. According to Korts, these innovations will help players get more positive impressions.

One of the reasons for the departure from free-to-play was the fact that Supermagical is not a big enough project to captivate users so much that they will spend money in the game. As Korts notes: “The biggest free-to-play games occupying the tops of the tops are huge or even endless. We can’t do anything like that.”

Earlier this year, the Bombcats and Punch Quest titles also proved to be untenable as part of free-to-play. It becomes obvious that this monetization model is not suitable for all games. Perhaps next year other developers will abandon free-to-play in favor of premium.
