Japanese studios are rioting

15 Japanese companies They are creating a single platform for cross-promotion, The Nikkei business newspaper reports.

The teams plan to work directly with each other within one common network, transferring users between their projects.

The reason for the possible appearance of the platform is the presence of a double fee in the Japanese mobile market. First, developers pay deductions from Gree or DeNA projects so that their grids bring projects to the top, then 30% from Apple or Goolge sales.

As a result, the teams themselves often receive less than half of the revenue from each of their projects. It is very difficult to do in the Japanese market without the support of Gree and DeNA, in turn.

Japanese market analyst Serkan Toto believes that the Japanese initiative is also directed against the increasingly popular social messengers (LINE and KakaoTalk), which also introduce a double fee.

Anyway, the creation of such a network / association, in theory, will allow you to refuse the services of any platform holders.

The initiator of the merger is Sega. Capcom and Taito are also among the participants. The total user base of all 15 teams is 20 million users.
