The best games of July

Every month M etacritic publishes the top ten games for iOS, according to the estimates of the English-language press. Which projects became the best at the end of July – read in our material.

Limbo

Released: July 3;

Price: $4.99.

LIMBO from Playdead is in the first place with an average score of 89 points (20 reviews). Since the original release on Xbox 360 in 2010, the game has managed to visit almost all gaming platforms. This summer, it was the turn of iOS.

However, we do not understand the enthusiasm of our Western colleagues. It feels like they downloaded LIMBO, played it for five minutes, made sure there were no differences from the console version, and went to write articles. But because of the management flaws, some of the fragments in the project are impassable.

Plants vs Zombies 2: It’s About Time

Released: July 9;

Price: free.

Despite the fact that the game has currently been released only in Australia and New Zealand, everyone has managed to review it. The ratings are very high: the average score on 7 reviews is 89.

The users themselves are not so happy with the game. Their score (62 reviews) is 6.6 points.

Hero of Many

Released: June 25;

Price: $3.99.

The first mobile game by Czech developer Matous Jezek, who took part in the creation of Mafia II, is an indie project that borrows a lot from Limbo, Osmos, Badland and even, surprise, from NetHack.

In the game, the user controls something like a cage traveling through dark labyrinths, solves riddles, fights enemies.

The average score based on the results of 4 reviews is 88.

Tiny Thief

Released: July 11;

Price: $2.99.

The humorous mobile Splinter Cell from Rovio Stars was almost entirely drawn on Flash. But it didn’t take away his charm at all. Quite the opposite. As a result, by the end of July, the project has 17 reviews with a score of 87.

Magic 2014

Released: June 25;

Price: free.

The electronic version of Magic The Gathering becomes a kind of analogue of Madden NFL. In 2011, the amazing Magic 2012 was released, last year Magic 2013 appeared on mobile platforms, and this July Wizards of the Coast pleased Magic 2014 users. And, as you can understand from the reviews, the series only gets better from year to year.

The Walking Dead: 400 Days

Released: July 11;

Price: $4.99.

The sixth place was taken by the next chapter of one of the main projects of last year – The Walking Dead adventure game, which is, to a greater extent, an interactive book rather than a full-fledged game.

Gentlemen!

Released: July 3;

Price: $2.99.

Arcade hot-sit platformer about Victorian gentlemen – it not only sounds original, but also unusually played. Only, except for 5 reviewers who gave the game a total of 84 points, no one knows about it yet.

Will they find out if the project will become popular? Unlikely. Playing together on the same tablet is not what users dream of.

Riptide GP2

Released: July 3;

Price: $4.99.

Beautiful jet ski racing with real PvP in real time. For many in the hot summer season – this is just what you need.

Dungeonism

Released: July 8;

Price: $1.99.

Rouge-similar games have recently become unexpectedly numerous on the mobile market. Dungeonism stands out against their background with a crazy design. No gray dungeons and poor graphics: only bright colors and aggressive minimalism.

League of Evil 3

Released: June 27;

Price: $1.99.

The continuation of one of the most popular platformers is called one of the most difficult games to play on iOS. Whether mobile projects need to be like this is another question. It’s not a pity to break the keyboard, going through the thirtieth level, which can’t be said about your favorite iPad.
