How It Works: Tourism
The Kiev startup incubator Istlabs continues an educational project — a series of seminars “How It Works” aimed at studying business models in certain business segments.
The goal of the project is to show the real ways to open a startup for aspiring entrepreneurs.
The seminars are devoted to various topics, for example, how to organize a business in the food or education segment. The events are purely practical in nature, and provide applied tools to transform your ideas into real business steps.
The next event will take place on July 17 and will be dedicated to the most relevant topic of the season — tourism: How It Works – Tourism.
At the height of the season, more and more people plan their holidays, choosing countries and conditions, comparing prices and choosing the best option for a vacation using various tour sites. Today, there is a growing number of those who prefer to book tickets and hotels on their own in order to go to an agency, select and pay for a tour directly on the spot. Thus, competition is also increasing between sites that offer their services for booking air, railway, car tickets and hotels. How It Works provides an opportunity to look at this process from the opposite side – someone who is trying to offer the best conditions for your vacation. What can online travel agencies offer you?
What are the main problems faced by e-tourism companies in Ukraine and in the world?
What exactly do customers want when they visit websites in search of a tour? How do I leave them on the site?
What are the biggest barriers in the tour business?
In order to cover a wide range of these issues in Ukraine and the world, Eastlabs invited experienced and well–known people in this field - Kirill Makharinsky, co-founder, to participate in the panel discussion Ostrovok.ru , as well as the creator of such projects as YouNoodle and Quid; Bas Godska, marketing expert, founder Acrobator.com , Managing Director in Russia and myThings CIS countries; Dmitry Afanasyev, founder and Managing Partner of GO 2.ua , previously engaged in the promotion of companies such as PepsiCo, Wrigley, Ferrero, SC Johnson, etc. The moderator of the panel discussion will be Olga Belkova, former partner of Istlabs, MP of Ukraine.
You will be able to hear experts' opinions on the problems and opportunities of today's tourism business on July 17 at SkyArtCafe, 18:00.
