Microsoft goes into free-2-play

Today, at the Develop game developers conference in Brighton, it became known that Microsoft is working on four free-2-play games for mobile devices at once.

Looking back at the success of numerous teams earning a lot of money on IAP, the Evil Corporation also decided to create shareware projects. Their direct development will be handled by Microsoft’s internal London studio – Lift London, headed by Lee Schuneman, a former employee of the famous Rare.

According to him, the studio’s future games will work on all Microsoft platforms. They will be AAA-level.

AAA is not the size of the team or the budget or the type of devices on which the project is launched, AAA is the quality of the project and the section of the audience covered,” said Shuniman.

“Clash of Clans, like the AAA–level Halo projects,” added the head of Lift London.
