Finns got to Japanese money

Clash of Clans, the main box office hit of this year in the US and European markets, managed to enter the top ten on the Japanese App Store. Puzzle & Dragons helped.

We have already written more than once about the joint cross-promotional campaign of GungHo and Supercell, which started last Monday, June 24. Let’s fill in, according to its terms, the Clash of Clans characters appeared in the Japanese hit Puzzle & Dragons, earning more than $100 million a month in its native market.

The first results were not long in coming. Already on the 25th, Clash of Clans was in first place in terms of downloads in the Japanese App Store (this was largely facilitated by the feature of the project on the main page and the release of the Japanese version of the game).

And now, after another week, the project was in the tenth position of the box office top of the Land of the Rising Sun. This is after the drop in downloads (now the game is in 18th place). By the way, the feature on the main page is still going on, but, apparently, the feeling of novelty has gone. Everyone who might be interested in the game has already downloaded it.

How long the game will last in the box office top, and whether its indicators will grow is a very difficult question. So far, only one thing can be said – in the genre of “strategy”, the game has been consistently in second place in Japan for more than a week.
