OpenFeint founder develops MOBA for tablets
The founder of the OpenFeint mobile social gaming platform, Jason Citron, spoke about his new project – Fates Forever, exclusive for MOBA tablets.
In 2011, OpenFeint was acquired by the Japanese giant GREE for $104 million. James Citron invested part of the funds from this transaction in the startup, which was first named The Phoenix Guild, and then renamed Hammer & Chisel. The team’s desire from the very beginning was to “bring the light of hardcore to the post-PC era” and become the Blizzard of the mobile industry.
The company’s first project will be Fates Forever, another attempt to create a successful MOBA for tablets.
The mechanics have not gone far from League of Legends: there is one map, two teams, each with three participants, and a lot of game characters “for pumping”. Task: choose a hero for yourself and ensure victory for your team.
Hammer & Chisel has already raised $2 million to date.
