Virtual currency spending will reach $3.2 billion by 2017

A study conducted by Tapjoy and the Yankee Group showed that consumer spending on virtual currency in applications will grow in the coming years. By 2017, they will reach $3.2 billion, three times higher than last year.

It also turned out that users prefer to watch ads and get free content for it, instead of paying real money for it.
