The third mobile project in the Warhammer 40,000 universe has been announced

One of the main franchises of the Games Workshop company is experiencing a real renaissance. In 2013, the third game in the brutal world of Warhammer 40,000 is announced. This time, the brave space marines from the Slitherine studio act as developers.

The British studio has received exclusive rights to create a whole series of products based on the board game Battle for Armageddon. The original game unfolded in the setting of Warhammer 40,000, but was based on the fighting of the Great Patriotic War. The role of the Germans in the game was played by Orcs, and the Soviet troops turned out to be the forces of the Imperium.

The first board-based game will be the turn-based wargame Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon, which will be released on iPad and PC next year.

I can’t wait to play this game,” said Ian McNeil, director of development at Slitherine Group. “It’s been 15 years since the last turn–based game in the Warhammer 40,000 universe.” Games Workshop sold the rights to develop Slitherine “not for beautiful eyes”.

The British company has been creating hardcore wargames since 2000 (ugly in appearance, with a high entry threshold, but very interesting). Among her most famous projects are the Field of Glory series and the ideological successor of Panzer Generals – Panzer Corps. On iOS, the company has released a tactical strategy Battle Academy. She did not gain wide fame (the price of $ 19.99 bites), but the gaming press treated her very favorably – 81.67% on Game Rankings.

Accordingly, it is approximately clear what can be expected from Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon: at the output we will get a harsh externally and mechanically project.

Recall that at the moment, a cross-platform tactical strategy Space Hulk (Full Control) and an unnamed side-scroller for iOS (Roadhouse Interactive) are also being made based on Warhammer 40,000. Fans of the original Warhammer will soon receive the tactical strategy Warhammer Quest (Rodeo Games).
