Secrets of GungHo Success

Recently, the Japanese company GungHo and its mega-hit Puzzle & Dragons have been constantly appearing in the headlines of news feeds. Yesterday Gamesindustry.biz published an interview with Kazuki Morishita, president of the company, in which he shared some secrets of success.

According to the head of GungHo, his company owes its achievements not so much to some advanced strategy as to ordinary luck. “If everyone focuses only on sales and offers their solutions in this direction, then it turns out that all companies can make good money.  But we really think that if we talk about sales, a lot here depends on luck, and therefore, first of all, we are engaged in the creative side of projects and try to make the game fun, at least for ourselves. Sooner or later it will transform into solid sales and”.

Often in the materials dedicated to GungHo, her name is called on a par with such Japanese giants as GREE and DeNa. On this occasion, Morishita noted that he does not consider them competitors and they, by and large, are not even gaming companies.: “As for GREE and DeNA, they act like most IT companies, which is not the same as a gaming company.”

Anyway, Puzzle & Dragons earns about $2 million every day, and its audience continues to grow rapidly.
