Rag Doll Kung Fu will be released on iOS

British indie studio Another Place Productions has started developing a mobile version of the “physical” fighting game Rag Doll Kung Fu.

The original project was developed by Lionhead employee Mark Healey in his spare time. After the game was demonstrated at GDC 2005, Valve became interested in it. As a result, Rag Doll Kung Fu became the first indie game distributed through Steam.

Rag Doll Kung Fu is far from an ordinary fighting game. To strike in the PC version, the user needs to pull the mouse over the part of the body of the game character with which the player wants to strike the opponent’s doll. On iOS, the player will have to pull the legs / arms of the fighters, of course, with a finger.

The mobile version will also feature a new art style, which is handled by the former art director of the Fable franchise, John McCormack. According to the developers, the new multiplayer mode will attract the most attention. Players will be able to fight each other via Bluetooth/Wi-Fi or synchronously over the Internet.

Developers expect that the iOS version of their game will be released in early summer. It is assumed that the game will work within the framework of the free-to-play model with IAP.
