The creators of Bastion announced a cyberpunk game

The new Supergiant game is called Transistor. She is the spiritual heir of Bastion, but strategic elements have appeared in her. It will be released no earlier than 2014.

Bastion was one of the most striking releases of last year on iOS. The fabulous hack & slash from Supergiant, previously lit up on Xbox 360 and PC, did not lose when ported to a mobile platform either in ease of management or in graphics and atmosphere.

Published by Warner Bros., which more often prefers to release all sorts of junk on the market based on its own tapes, Bastion was included in the selection of the best App Store apps of 2012 according to the Apple editorial board. In addition, he has been persistently promoted by the Apple company in iTunes for a long time. How successful he was financially is another question. Even on the best of days, it did not rise above 42 positions in the box office top of the iPhone app in the United States. This is at a price of $4.99.

The new Supergiant project, the Transistor slasher, is visually very similar to Bastion. Only he’s about cyberpunk. Our colleagues from Pocket Gamer saw in it the neon of Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner and the atmosphere of Otomo Katsuhiro’s Akira, although, in our opinion, there is more from the last parts of Final Fantasy and Kenji Kamiyama’s Ghost in Armor.

The main character of the game is a woman with a huge sword trying to figure out who is behind the murder of the previous owners of her weapons. By mechanics, Transistor is a brisk hack &slash with a strategic planning mode.

It is not yet known on which platforms the game will appear. However, given that Bastion has honored iOS with its presence, we can assume that Transistor will also appear on our iPhones and iPads. The release of the project is scheduled for 2014.
