Microtransactions - in all EA mobile games
Last week, Electronic Arts CFO Blake Jorgensen announced that microtransactions will appear in all upcoming games of the company. Yesterday, this statement was supplemented with new comments.
Yesterday, a top EA manager, speaking at the Wedbush Securities Transformational Technologies Management Access conference, explained that his statement was misunderstood. The words “there will be micropayments in our games” in the news were interpreted as “in all games without exception.” In this case, Jorgensen meant only mobile games, because in its future projects for smartphones and tablets, the company focuses on the free-to-play model. As for the “non-mobile” sphere, the emphasis here is on “extensions”. As an example, Jorgensen cited Battlefield Premium, all five add-ons of which are offered to players for $50
