Animoca told about the most popular devices in the USA

The list of the 10 most popular Android smartphones in the United States was recently published by Animoca. She also shared data on the most common versions of Android.

There were no surprises. The Galaxy S3 is in the first position in popularity with 8.8%. Samsung Galaxy S2 is also in second place with 6.1%. Looking ahead, out of the top ten American smartphones, five are made by the Korean giant.

From the third position came names that say nothing to the Russian user. These are LG Motion 4G MS770 with 4.8%, Motorola Droid Razer with 2.1% and the very mysterious Kyocera Hydro with 1.9% (for comparison, the December top smartphones).

We strongly advise all Android developers interested in the American market to get these smartphones to test their applications. Fragmentation on the Google platform still takes place and debugging programs on as many devices as possible will avoid a number of errors related to poor compatibility or unaccounted UI moments.

As for the most common versions of Android, according to Animoca, Android 4.0.4 is currently leading by a noticeable margin (33%). Android 2.3.6 is in second place (16.5%), and Android 4.1.1 is in third place with 15.4%. Full information is just below.

According to official Google data, the distribution of platform versions in the world is somewhat different. The total share of Ice Cream Sandwich is 28.6%, Gingerbread is 44.2%, and Jelly Bean is 16.5%.
