Real Racing 3 will cost users $503

American gaming journalists have calculated how much a new “free” Electronic Arts game can cost avid gamers. The figure turned out to be, to put it mildly, impressive.

So, at the moment, Real Racing 3 is available in four markets used by EA for a “soft launch”. These are Australia, New Zealand, South Korea and, as we have already written, Russia. It is in these countries that the monetization of a new hit from Firemonkeys, the authors of last year’s Need for Speed: Most Wanted for mobile platforms, which was distributed according to the standard paid model, but contained IAP, is being tested.

In the case of Real Racing 3, it was decided to switch completely to F2P. This, in turn, led to a tightening of monetization. Now the players, in case of damage to the car on the track, must either wait until it is repaired, or pay money.

As calculated by our colleagues with 148apps.com , in order to complete all the tasks, the player will need to open or purchase all 46 cars available in the game. This will cost the user at best $503 or 472 hours. But this is an ideal scenario, possible only if the player is a Schumacher from the world of mobile racing. Everyone else will need to spend money on repairs, maintenance and improvements.

Is it a lot or a little? It’s hard to say. For comparison, it’s no secret that Clash of Clans has players who have spent about $ 10 thousand on the project. It is clear that this is significantly more than $503.
