Yandex has opened an app store
Yandex has launched its own store for users of smartphones and tablets on the Android platform.
It already contains about 50 thousand applications. Most of which, unfortunately, do not represent anything interesting. However, in Yandex.Store you can find all parts of Angry Birds, games from ZeptoLab, as well as the necessary “social” minimum: Vkontakte, Skype, Twitter, Foursquare. However, Facebook is not there. Instead, “Classmates”.
The key feature of the new market is the ability to pay for your purchases not with a credit card, but directly from your phone account, but only for MTS, Megafon and Beeline customers. Those who use Tele2, apparently, fly by.
Both device manufacturers and mobile operators have been given the opportunity to install the Yandex store on their gadgets for free. For this integration, they received part (which part, it is not specified) of the revenue from the sales of applications.
A few words about the store itself. It is arranged somewhat differently than Google Play. The first screen is the “Interesting” showcase, under which the names of the promoted applications are in two rows. From the “Interesting” section, you can go to “Games” and “Applications”. In both cases, a list of available genres and the top is presented. When activating any genre or top, we are offered to download a list of free applications. Paid ones can be downloaded by simply changing the section at the top.
Actually, everything.
Registration in the store for developers is free. Yandex receives the standard 30% of its net revenue for its services.
