Brazil has over 260 million mobile users
According to the Brazilian National Telecommunications Agency, 19.54 million new mobile users appeared in the country over the past year.
Thus, the total number of active mobile subscribers in Brazil reached 261.78 million by the end of 2012.
Over the past year, the number of 3G mobile Internet users has grown by 60%. At the same time, GSM technology still accounts for the largest share (74.4%).
And some more statistics – 210.8 million subscribers (80.53%) use pre-paid contracts. The leader among local operators is Vivo with a base of 76.1 million customers (market share – 29.08%).
