Chinese hit will be published on the international market
The main box office hit of the Chinese iOS market last year – the role-playing game Dragon Force, also known at home as Dragon Bane, is being prepared for international release.
No one has any doubts that China is a big mobile market. Its turnover, according to China Game Industry Report 2012, for the past year amounted to about $ 500 million. In 2013, it will only get bigger, reaching, according to preliminary forecasts, more than $850 million. In this context, the Western release of one of the main projects of the Chinese App Store last year cannot but be of interest.
It is unknown how much Dragon Force earns and what is the number of downloads in its native market, as well as in the markets of Taiwan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines and Indonesia, where it is also represented. According to our colleagues from Pocket Gamer, there is only information about the number of users of the project – 1.5 million. In any case, the chart below perfectly illustrates the position of the game in the Chinese box office chart.
If we talk directly about Dragon Force, and not about the results of the game in the App Store, then this is a familiar more for PC than for mobile MMORPG platforms, the ability to generate your own team of adventurers from available classes, join various guilds, travel through dungeons, etc. One of the main features of the project is the presence of both PvE and PvP battles at once.
The authors and publishers of the project are com.digitalcloud studio. The game will be released in the Western market at the end of January.
