Rovio catches up with Zynga by monthly audience
Rovio announced that in December 2012, the total MAU of all the company’s projects exceeded a record value of 263 million (in September, this figure was 200 million).
Thus, the monthly audience of unique users of the Finnish company has almost grown to that of the social giant Zynga. The MAU of the latter at the beginning of December last year was 293 million. Here, it would seem, is a good reason to be happy for the Finnish guys, they say, a little more and they will defeat the “social empire of evil”, but one thing prevents. Pincus’ brainchild is going through hard times right now: Zynga is losing directors, closing one game after another, and winding down divisions. Against this background, it is difficult to talk about honest rivalry. Recall that only in May of this year there were 1 billion downloads for Rovio (now their number, according to analysts, may already be more than 1.5 billion).
