Apple ousted LG from the US mobile market

The US mobile market is still bipolar, according to comScore analysts. Samsung and Apple are confidently displacing other smartphone manufacturers.

According to comScore, from August to November 2012, the situation in the American mobile market has not changed dramatically, its leaders continue to strengthen their positions. During the quarter, Samsung’s share grew by 1.2%, now the company owns more than a quarter of the market – 26.7%.

But if in August LG took the second place with 18.2%, now it has been displaced by Apple, increasing the market share by 1.4% to 18.5%. LG now owns a market share with 17.5%.

The positions of Motorola and HTC companies in the American smartphone market have also weakened.

As for mobile platforms, Android is the undisputed leader – by the end of November, its share was 53.7%. More than a third (35.0%) of the mobile OS market falls on iOS. Other operating systems (from RIM, Microsoft and Symbian) showed negative dynamics.
