The best mobile games of 2012 according to Venturebeat

The industrial resource Venturebeat on the eve of Catholic Christmas has published its version of the list of the best mobile games of the year.

Places were not awarded here, the list included only those products that impressed the editorial staff of the site. So, the winners are…..

The Walking Dead: The Game (Telltale Games) – iOS, JulyThe episodic adventure based on the popular TV franchise in the past year has become one of the most pleasant surprises not only on mobile devices, but also on PCs and consoles.

Most of the sites that published their Best of 2012 lists included it among the best projects of the season.

Curiosity: What’s Inside the Cube (22Cans) – iOS, Android, NovemberThe original experiment game from the startup 22Cans, headed by the notorious Peter Molyneux, despite some difficulties at the start, aroused great interest.

However, the difficulties during the release were due to interest: the company’s servers simply could not withstand the influx of players.

Draw Something (OMGPOP) – iOS, Android, FebruaryThe word game has become the main entertainment of this spring-summer.

it’s just a pity that the project quickly deflated.

Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition (Overhaul Games) – iOS, DecemberAfter a lot of postponements, the game still came out.

Raw, not without problems, but now we can say that hardcore has appeared on tablets!

The World Ends With You (Square Enix) – iOS, AugustSquare Enix has very successfully ported its role-playing game for Nintrndo DS, released in Japan in 2007.

However, she did not get the cult status that current journalists give her now.

Letterpress (atebits) – iOS, October
Some characterize this game as “Go with letters and words”.

Fieldrunners 2 (Subatomic Studios) – iOS, JulyOne of the most interesting projects in the style of tower defense.

Infinity Blade II (Chair Entertainment) – iOS, November 2011Venturebeat editors included this game in the list, despite the fact that it was released last year.

Then they did not have time to celebrate it and decided to “pay tribute” this time.

Horn (Phosphor Games) – iOS, Android, AugustThe game pleased gamers with a well-developed fantasy world, convenient controls and excellent humor, and it is also one of the most original projects of Zynga, which is not inclined to experiments.

Super Hexagon (Terry Cavanagh) – iOS, AugustNon-standard minimalist arcade game in retro style.

Waking Mars (Tiger Style Games) – iOS, Android, FebruaryExploration of the red planet using terraforming, but in fact a pure arcade game with a cool narrative.
