50% of the income from the stores is shared by 25 developers
Exactly half of all profits from the American versions of the App Store and Google Play are distributed among 25 developers, according to App Annie and Canalys.
Zynga, Electronic Arts, Disney, Kabam, Rovio, Glu, Gameloft, TeamLava Storm8, etc. are among the companies generating 50% of the profits of the two leading stores in the USA. In total, there are 25 developers on the list, 24 of whom make games. Moreover, according to Canalys analyst Chris Jones, the dominance of leaders and their revenues in the mobile app market will only increase during the Christmas holidays.
During the study period (the first 20 days of November), the companies earned a total of $60 million. That is, it turns out that in 20 days the combined revenues of Google Play and the App Store in the States amount to $ 120 million.
By the way, in the first three weeks of November, 145 of the top 300 paid apps in the App Store were games, 116 in Google Play, 94 games were in the top 300 free apps in the App Store and 100 games were in Google Play. At the same time, it is on games that 24 out of 25 developers earn a total of $ 60 million.
