Microsoft and Amazon will release their own smartphones
Microsoft and Amazon are planning to launch smartphones under their own brands by mid-2013, according to the DigiTimes resource.
Foxconn International Holding, a leading manufacturer of components for mobile devices and a strategic partner of Apple, does not comment on Microsoft and Amazon’s plans to release their own smartphones, citing the confidentiality of customer information.
As our colleagues from DigiTimes are also informed, the companies’ entry into the smartphone market in the middle of next year will not be accompanied by a large volume of shipments. To begin with, the company’s management intends to study the demand.
