Deputies of the Moscow region are waiting for an iPad under the Christmas tree
While American users are dreaming about what kind of “apple” tablet they would like for Christmas, the Moscow Regional Duma is already buying iPads for deputies of the Moscow region for the New Year.
As explained in the press service of the department, the tablets are intended for deputies and heads of departments of the Duma as part of the transition to electronic document management, and at the same time the devices are gifts for the New Year.
The minimum declared amount that they intend to spend on immodest New Year gifts to deputies is 3 million rubles. For this money, officials expect to buy 80 iPad 3 tablets, cases and styluses for them, and the packaging of the device will be made in an exclusive design with the image of the coat of arms of the Moscow Regional Duma.
iPads for their employees have already been purchased by the Ministry of Finance, the Moscow Government, the Investigative Committee, etc. Recently, a major competition for the purchase of Windows 8 tablets was held by the Federation Council.
It should be noted that the Federation Council has repeatedly raised the issue of the insecurity of conventional mobile devices, especially those developed in the West. Russian manufacturers have solved this issue by creating RoMOS, a secure Russian mobile operating system based on Android.
In addition, in August, a tablet of its own Russian production was announced in two versions: for the Ministry of Defense and a civil one with a stated price of 15 thousand rubles. Then it was reported that the device was going to be released just in December of this year, that is, by the New Year. Why don’t the deputies of the Moscow region use safer devices and start promoting the domestic manufacturer by personal example.
