Jelly Bean 4.1. is not a success
Google has shared the latest data on the popularity of various versions of the Android operating system. Despite the fact that the company is already preparing for the release of the updated Jelly Bean Android 4.2, there are still few adherents of the previous version of Android 4.1.
Official statistics published by Google do not provide indicators of user activity, frequency of purchases and average application costs, it only shows the level of popularity among users of a particular version of the platform. But according to the developers, more than 70% of downloads of new applications are on devices with versions of Android 4.X.
In comparison with the results of September 2012, the share of Ice Cream Sandwich in October increased by 5%, and now this version of the operating system is on a quarter of all Android devices.
The latest version of Jelly Bean Android 4.1 is gaining popularity much slower: in 2 months, its share has grown by only 1.5% and now stands at a meager 2.7%. The main share of Android devices still works on Gingerbread, however, its positions are weakening every month. If in September it accounted for 57.5% of devices, then in October it was already 54.2%.
