By 2016, Android will bypass Windows
Gartner analysts are confident that in four years Android will become the most popular operating system in general, and not only among its mobile competitors.
The future of mobile devices in chronological order looks like this:
By the end of this year, the total number of Android-based devices will be 608 million;
2013 – users will use mobile devices more often than personal computers to access the Internet;
2015 – smartphones will occupy 80% of the mobile phone market, of which 20% will be Windows Phone. The top five smartphone manufacturers will include at least three Chinese companies.
2016 – Android will become the most widespread operating system on the market. By this time, the number of Android-based devices will increase almost 4 times and reach 2.3 billion. The platform will be installed on more devices than Windows (both desktop and mobile versions), which by that time will have 2.28 billion devices.
