By February, Windows 8 will have 100,000 applications
Keith Lorizio, vice president of Microsoft Corporation, last week in an interview with Beet TV said about the expected prospects of Windows 8.
Microsoft reports that by February 1, 2013, Windows 8 will have more than 100,000 applications. The company also predicts that by July next year, more than 400 million people will become users of the new operating system. For comparison, according to the analytical company Canalys, according to the results of the second quarter of this year, about 108.7 million devices (PCs, laptops and tablets) were shipped in total. Accordingly, the figure predicted by Microsoft exceeds the total shipments for all three quarters.
Of course, most of the users, in order to switch to the eight, it is enough to update the operating system without buying a new device for this. Nevertheless, the company has very ambitious plans.
By the way, according to Forbes, Microsoft Corporation estimates the marketing campaign to promote Windows 8 at $1.5 – $ 1.8 billion.
