Yandex launches its app store
The Russian “search” company is going to launch Yandex on the first day of October.Store, Android app store.
According to the Cnews portal, on October 1, Yandex intends to officially announce the original store for Android-based smartphones. Its launch is another step of the company in creating its own mobile ecosystem, which already combines search, navigation, the Yandex.Disk cloud service and the Yandex graphical shell.Shell.
According to some vendors, the creation of their own application store by Yandex will also allow the partners of the Russian company to relatively painlessly abandon the default use of a number of Google applications pre-installed on Android devices. The fact is that Google usually denies devices access to Google Play for such an initiative. With the advent of Yandex.Store it won’t be a problem anymore.
The problem with the content in the new market has been solved very simply at the moment: a Russian company has bought a license for 40 thousand applications from the Opera Store.
For the first time, the Yandex app store will be available only to the company’s partners. Ordinary users will have access to it only at the end of 2012.
Out of curiosity: at the moment, Yandex is also developing a branded version of Yandex.A store called GetUpps. It will be pre-installed only on smartphones distributed under the Megafon brand.
