Touchcode will replace QR codes
Nukotoys has announced a new Touchcode technology used in the card games Animal Planet Wildlands and Monsterology.
Touchcode technology, according to analysts’ expectations, has good prospects and is quite capable of replacing QR codes. It consists in the following: an invisible electronic code is applied to cardboard, paper, film or label, which can be considered multitouch-enabled devices by placing the code on the screen.
The technology itself is convenient for reading any information using a mobile device: from data on printed and representative products (business cards, advertising banners, in which QR codes are often used) to verifying the authenticity of banknotes.
So far, the technology is used in games from Nukotoys, already available in the American App Store. The cards “activate” wild animals in Animal Planet Wildlands and mythological characters in Monsterology. Both games are free, but the cards for them cost a decent amount of money – $2 apiece.
