Google Resurrects Motorola

Motorola Mobility, as a subsidiary of Google Corporation, has introduced three new Razr series smartphones based on the fourth version of Android.

While Nokia yesterday tried not to lull journalists with stories about its new products, in the same New York, Google demonstrated a new line of devices from the mobile division of Motorola, which is now part of it.

The highlight of the program was the Razr M smartphone, a budget smartphone with the characteristics of the flagship. It has a 4.3-inch display, a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1 GB of RAM, a 2000 mAh battery, an 8-megapixel camera and, attention, LTE support. The price of the device in the USA will be only $99 (in case of a contract). The only thing we decided to save on was the size of the internal memory (8 GB).  Fortunately, there is a slot for micro-SD cards. The device is already on sale.

Two more new items will go on sale for the Christmas holidays. These are Razr HD and Razr Maxx HD.

Razr HD is a large smartphone with a screen size of 4.7 inches. Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 at 1.5 GHz beats in the chest, there is a 2500 mAh battery on board. One of the nice things is a front-facing HD camera and NFC support. Otherwise, a complete copy of the Razr M.

As for the RAZR Maxx HD, it differs from the Razr HD with a giant 3000 mAh battery, which, according to its creators, will allow you to watch videos for more than 13 hours, and sit on the network using LTE for “as much as” 8 hours.

For Motorola, a former star of the American mobile phone market, this is the first presentation as part of the search giant. And I would like to hope that it will not be the last. Another thing is that it doesn’t seem particularly important to Google itself. It’s not just about the timing (simultaneously with the presentation of the Lumia 920, a couple of days before the announcement of the iPhone), but also in the absence of the latest version of Android on new devices. Instead of Jelly Bean – Ice Scream Sandwich.

So it is quite possible that those who claim that for Google, Motorola is just a treasure trove of patents, and not a forge of hits, are right.

Yes, it’s funny, the presentation of new smartphones happened exactly a week after the announcement of Samsung’s ATIV S.
