Amazon makes a smartphone

The authors of the Kindle Fire are developing a device that will compete in the market with the iPhone and gadgets on the Android operating system, sources informally claim the online edition of Bloomberg. 

At the moment, the company is collecting patents that will protect it from claims from competitors in the future. It is not yet clear how long this preparatory period will last, as well as whether the company will take any actions before its end. 

The smartphone will expand Amazon’s already wide range of budget devices, with which (but not on them) the company earns. Recall that its main income item is the sale of content through the app store of the same name. 

Together with Amazon, Foxconn specialists are working on the device. It is also known that part of the patents related to wireless technologies, the company bought in early summer from InterDigital Inc.
