Microsoft arranges laboratory work

From July 23 to 27, Moscow will host a series of consultations on the development of desktop and tablet applications for the Windows Store app store for Windows 8. Read about the new app store and the event below.

The release of Windows 8 is scheduled for September. At the same time, the first tablets will be released, working both on it and on a special version of the eighth “windows” for the ARM architecture – Windows RT. At the same time, the Windows Store will begin its work, from which both owners of desktop systems and owners of tablets with Microsoft OS will be able to download applications.

As far as we know, only the “eight” will have backward compatibility with previous versions of Windows, for obvious reasons. In addition, applications developed under Windows 8, in most cases, will not be able to be run on Windows RT. At the same time, as we have learned from reliable sources, all applications developed for Windows RT, by order of Microsoft, will function on a full-fledged Windows 8.

Thus, the Windows Store is a store from which both ordinary pisishniki and tablet users will be able to download applications.

How to optimize applications for him is a separate question. Microsoft promises to respond to it in detail during Application Excellence Labs. However, the company will allow only those who have already developed or, at least, are working on a program for the system to attend this event.

During the whole five days, Microsoft is going to test, analyze, disassemble and evaluate the applications of the participants. And all this will take place in the format of free consultations.
