Playtika's management will ultimately not sell the company
In early April, Playtika decided to explore "strategic alternatives" for business development — one of which was the possibility of selling the company. Six months later, Playtika announced it was abandoning this option.
Playtika shared this news as part of its third-quarter report for 2026.
As the company reported, its board of directors completed a strategic analysis and concluded that it would be more beneficial for Playtika to remain independent. In their view, remaining independent will make it easier for Playtika to "create long-term value for shareholders" than if it becomes part of some other company.
During the summer, there were also rumors that Playtika was considering selling the SuperPlay studio, but the company did not comment on them. Now, they only noted that SuperPlay's revenues are actively growing — compared to being unprofitable at the time of purchase in 2024, it is now generating increasing profits.
Regarding Playtika’s finances, the company earned $673.8 million in the past quarter. This is 7.8% less than the previous year. Meanwhile, its net profit increased by 3.3% to $40.4 million.
