CI Games has obtained a $32 million loan to complete and self-publish Lords of the Fallen 2

CI Games has secured a $32 million loan structured with support from Erste Bank Polska and Bank Ochrony Środowiska in Poland. This funding is aimed at finalizing and marketing Lords of the Fallen II globally. The company announced the arrangement on October 30, highlighting that the funds will also alleviate its existing bank debts.
The credit facility, backed by an 80% guarantee from the Polish export credit agency KUKE, reaches maturity in August 2027. Proceeds from the anticipated first-quarter 2027 launch of Lords of the Fallen II are expected to be a primary source for repaying the loan. An exact release date is expected to be disclosed in December.
Marek Tymiński, CEO and president of CI Games, emphasized that the loan enables the game’s launch without issuing new shares, an advantage for shareholders who retain full ownership over any gains. As the principal investor, Tymiński has assured that he will maintain his equity throughout this period.
This financial arrangement arose following the dissolution of an agreement with Epic Games, which would have seen Epic exclusively distribute the game on PC. Despite the termination on April 14, CI Games only publicized this development later. The decision was framed as being unimpactful on ongoing collaborations with Epic, including the use of Unreal Engine.
Now pursuing a self-publishing route, CI Games doesn't need to split the game’s revenues with an external distributor. Lords of the Fallen II is slated for release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. In 2023, it was revealed that the original Lords of the Fallen was CI Games' costliest endeavor, with expenditures reaching $66.2 million.
