The latest edition of Gamescom Asia x Thailand Game Show has been described by the organizers as the event's most diverse iteration yet, welcoming 219,546 participants from 113 countries worldwide.
Spanning four days, from October 29 to November 1, the convention was hosted at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre in Bangkok, utilizing 38,519 square meters of space.
The initial two days focused on business activities, bringing in 6,923 attendees from 78 countries—a rise of 24% compared to the previous edition, which saw 5,590 participants in 2025. Most of these visitors hailed from countries other than Thailand.
The conference featured prominent industry figures, with 81 speakers from 27 nations taking the stage. Notably, John Romero, co-founder of id Software, delivered a keynote speech. The event also included the Xsolla-sponsored Invest Circle and VIP XPerience, which facilitated interactions between 509 developers, publishers, and investors, showing an increase from 418 in the previous year.
This year's show featured exhibitors from 29 different nations, including 20 national pavilions and industry delegations. The total number of exhibitors and pavilions rose to 335 from last year's 294, with 64% representing foreign countries.
Attendees had the opportunity to engage with 582 gaming titles showcased at the event. Among these, 347 were from independent developers spread across the business and entertainment sections. The show garnered attention from 720 media outlets, influencers, and journalists.
Digital content and live broadcasts from the show amassed nearly 34 million views across various platforms.
Mathias Kuepper, Managing Director and Regional President for APAC at Koelnmesse, stated, "This was the most international show we have staged."
He continued, "Exhibitors from 29 countries and regions arrived in Bangkok to secure deals, not just to display games. This signals to the global industry that Southeast Asia is now a crucial market where significant deals occur."
Prior to the event, GamesIndustry.biz interviewed Project Director Daria La Velle to discuss the emphasis on the Southeast Asian gaming sector.
La Velle explained that while the ultimate goal is to represent all of Asia, the current focus remains on supporting Southeast Asia's gaming industry and its community.
She compared the event to Gamescom in Germany, mentioning that attendees from the Asia Pacific region remain low compared to those coming from Europe, the United States, and South America. La Velle added, "Instead of having them travel to Gamescom, we decided to bring the Gamescom experience closer to them."
