A fan of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is ready to give Ubisoft over 5 million euros to revive the canceled remake
An anonymous gamer published an open letter urging Ubisoft to resume the development of the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake. He stated that he would provide the company with generous funding if they agree to "resurrect" the project.

The author of the letter clarified that 5 million euros is his initial budget. The exact amount will depend on Ubisoft's terms, the project's viability assessment, and a number of other factors.
As emphasized by the gamer, he does not expect to profit from the investment and does not intend to demand a share of the game's sales or rights to the franchise from Ubisoft. He also does not plan to interfere in the company's creative and business decisions. Instead, he is solely interested in the opportunity to see the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake through to its release.
Ubisoft canceled the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake in early 2026. The company explained that completing the development of the updated version of the game requires more time and money than it can afford. Additionally, Ubisoft was not confident that the final product would fully satisfy the audience. Alongside the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake, five more titles were shelved, among which, rumors suggest, were two mobile Assassin’s Creed games.
Ubisoft has not commented on the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time fan proposal.
