Bungie co-founder Alex Seropian is now developing games for Roblox

The studio Look North World, headed by Bungie co-founder Alex Seropian, has released its first game for Roblox in early access. This game is a free-to-play extraction shooter called Drifters. Prior to this, the company specialized in developing games for Fortnite.

As Seropian shared in an interview with GamesBeat, Drifters was created with a focus on the adult audience of Roblox. The studio aimed to bring to the platform approaches typical of AAA development, including the creation of a well-developed game world, complex game systems, and quality combat mechanics.

It took about five months to develop Drifters up to the early access stage. The main team consisted of five people, with contractors brought in for specific tasks.

Seropian's interest in Roblox emerged in February 2026. Shortly after that, Look North World joined the platform's incubation program, which helps developers master its tools and technologies. Meanwhile, the studio is independently funding Drifters.

One of the key advantages of Roblox, according to Seropian, is the lack of competition from the platform owner. Unlike Epic Games, which is developing its own Fortnite, Roblox does not release games that compete with third-party developers’ projects. In Seropian's view, this creates favorable conditions for building a sustainable game business.

At the same time, Look North World does not intend to abandon Fortnite and continues to develop games for Epic Games' platform.
