Legacy Games, a casual game marketplace, is set to shut down its online store in December
Legacy Games, known for its casual game offerings, has declared that its online store will cease operations on December 31, 2026.
The company, established in 1998, has a reputation for releasing hidden object games alongside various other casual genres for multiple platforms like PC, console, and mobile devices.
In 2020, Legacy Games launched an online marketplace with a library exceeding 1,000 games. The platform promoted itself with the mantra 'Amazing games. Incredible value. Yours to keep forever.'
As indicated by VGC, a majority of its offerings were marketed in bulk, and the company also provided physical media with digital activation codes through Walmart and Amazon.
According to an FAQ on the company’s site, after closure, digital redemption of disc codes will cease, and any accumulated points, rewards, and club memberships will conclude.
The servers and website of Legacy Games are set to be decommissioned on February 28, 2027. Until this date, users can download and install any titles they have purchased.
After installation, games will remain playable as long as they are not removed from the device they were installed on. Otherwise, redownloading will not be possible, leaving them inaccessible if deleted.
This applies equally to free games that were claimed through Amazon Luna, with users having until the same February deadline to download them if they haven't already done so.
Although the company hasn't specified the motive for the shutdown, it extended gratitude to its users, acknowledging them as "part of the Legacy Games story."
