Ace Combat 8 has become the fastest-selling game in the series
Bandai Namco announced that Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve has already sold over 1 million copies worldwide. The arcade flight simulator reached this milestone faster than any previous installment in the 30-year-old franchise.

The company did not share a breakdown of sales by platform. According to data from the service Gamalytic, the Steam version of the game accounted for just under half of all copies sold—around 400,000 units, with gross revenue of $23.1 million. The remaining copies of Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve were sold on consoles.
The full release of Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve took place on October 2 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. Owners of the Deluxe edition gained access three days earlier, on September 29.
