Paramount has finalized its $111 billion purchase of Warner Bros. Discovery. The unified entity will now operate as Skydance.

Although no specific mention of video games was made in Skydance's release, co-CEO Ynon Kreiz, in a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, discussed future plans for gaming.

"We see numerous prospects to create fresh business ventures, products, games, and experiences to connect with fans everywhere and anticipate consumer trends," Kreiz stated.

Skydance CEO David Ellison highlighted the challenges of merging two major companies, emphasizing the necessity for "difficult decisions."

"Merging organizations of this magnitude demands tough choices," said Ellison. "There will be modifications and repercussions. Transparency will guide our communication as we adjust quickly, ensuring it doesn't hinder our ultimate goal: establishing a pioneering media and entertainment company."

Skydance aims to achieve over $6 billion in "synergy savings" through technological advancements, marketing strategies, and optimizing real estate.

This summer, Skydance expanded its gaming ambitions by launching Paramount Game Studio, which resulted from combining Skydance Interactive with Skydance New Media. Executive Vice President Dan Prigg shared insights into the studio's objectives and upcoming titles, including collaborations with Platinum and Amy Hennig like 1943: Rise of Hydra and a Star Wars project with Lucasfilm.

Post-merger, Skydance now holds ownership of Warner's assets, such as Avalanche Software (known for Hogwarts Legacy), as well as other studios like NetherRealm, Rocksteady, and TT Games. Additional facilities include WB Games Montreal, WB Games New York, and WB Games San Francisco.
