According to ACI's observations, for at least the last six years, the total revenue of Russian gaming companies has been continuously growing. For comparison, in 2019 it amounted to “only” 56.2 billion rubles, in 2021—78.3 billion rubles, and in 2024—177.8 billion rubles.
Here’s how the revenue for 2025 was distributed among different types of companies:
- game developers and publishers — 106.6 billion rubles;
- engine developers, as well as hardware and peripheral manufacturers — 37.2 billion rubles;
- esports companies — 31.5 billion rubles;
- distribution platforms, including cloud gaming services — 17.2 billion rubles;
- technical operators — 14.2 billion rubles.
Interestingly, the fastest revenue growth, according to ACI, was seen in distribution platforms. Since 2019, their income has jumped more than 57 times. This can be attributed to the emergence of new digital stores in Russia like VK Play and RuStore.
ACI predicts that by 2035, all Russian gaming companies combined could earn as much as 491.8 billion rubles.
ACI also provided statistics on the spending of Russian gamers in games worldwide. According to the agency’s estimates, in 2025 these reached $2.2 billion, elevating Russia to 12th place among the countries with the highest gaming expenditures—up from 13th place the previous year. Notably, 97% of this amount was spent by Russians on digital purchases.
Last year, Russians spent the most on PC games (91.7 billion rubles), followed by mobile games (73.4 billion rubles), console games (14.7 billion rubles), and web projects (3.7 billion rubles).
